House Tour and Designer Spotlight: Corners from Aditi Prakash’s New Delhi home, and pictures of her work

Aditi Prakash is a designer who works extensively with tribal craftsmen and those who use eco-friendly materials to create simple, beautiful, useful products.

When I saw her blog header that is actually a photograph of a glass display shelf in her home, I was pretty sure she had more lovely corners around her home. You already saw her kitchen here, (an early participant in our October Blog Carnival), so now it’s time to show you the rest of her home. At the end of this post, you will also see some of her amazing work via her line called Pure Ghee Designs.

Living room: Tall book cabinet in pine wood which Aditi commisioned for her husband, silk patchwork cushion designed by her made by tribal women in Jharkhand, painting titled “The universe lies within” done by her during her student days at NID.
Gond painting with tree in primary colours by Nankusia Shyam was a wedding gift from a friend, painted madhubani metal box, carved wooden bowl from Africa picked up at a garage sale, runner from Sandur, Karnataka
Aditi’s glass shelf with colorful finds from around the world; this is also her blog header.
Niche in the entrance lobby painted in bright colours, painted wooden peacock from Benares

Aren’t her corners arty? These are pics of her work at Pure Ghee Designs.

Your matchbox [trinklet box gave me a beautiful idea…] I have my grandfathers inland letters from the 1930's all the way to 1960's …yes every letter was stored and carefully preseved. I should decoupage some of those letters, and gift it to my brother and some cousins, who truly will cherish this keepsake…
