Designer Spotlight: Aarti Badamikar

Coasters and Napkin Rings

After a series of flower power blogging, it’s time I focus on posts that are long overdue. When I saw Aarti’s blog, I fell in love with the illustrations and the drawings on her blog. As always, I followed her back with a request for a blog feature and she gladly agreed to share her work with our readers.

Hand Embroidered Napkins

Aarti Badamikar is a textile designer working as a freelance design consultant. She completed her post graduation from NID Ahmedabad after completing her graduation from Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai. She has been working with companies all over the world. She dabbles with home textiles, table and kitchen linens, curtains and soft furnishings, illustrations, print and surface designs.

Textile Design

Here’s what Aarti has to say about her work: I began working as a young design consultant to keep my design interests budding with new people new places and new projects. Basically it is fun working like this! I am always seeking for new projects to work for. Having a background from design school I try to combine both art and design in my own way. Vincent van Gogh is my all time fav artist and inspiration!

Illustrations

Surface patterns and hand drawings inspire her. She showcases her work on her blog, catch up on her works at aartidraws.blogspot.com and aartianddesign.blogspot.com. We’ll be featuring her home and some more works in the near future, look out for them.

Meanwhile, check out the blogger kitchens featured in the “October Carnival – It’s the cook’s nook”. Aren’t you inspired enough to send in your entries as well?
