6 AWESOME ERI SILK-BASED PRODUCTS THAT YOU NEED TO OWN TODAY!

By SHARON DSOUZA

Beautiful Meghalaya produces Eri or Ahimsa silk. I spoke to pro-sustainability company, MUEZART and was surprised to see the range of products they make from Eri Silk!

Eri Silk has some amazing properties. It is Ahimsa silk, and therefore environment-friendly.  Eri Silk is a natural yarn that is super soft, keeps you warm in winter (without the ‘woolly itch’) and cool in summer.

With that background, let's explore some of the amazing products that Muezart creates. This is a spool of Eri Silk thread.

In it's most basic form, you can use it on a home-use loom (Muezart makes this too), to make some amazing DIYs like this wall-hanging.

This is a home-use loom. It is a work -in-progress picture of a coaster that you too can DIY if you own the loom.

Muezart markets this lovely naturally-dyed crochet yarn, that is very popular among crochet enthusiasts.

They also make embroidery thread with their Eri silk. The thread is strong and comes in beautiful colours.

Beautiful handmade jewelry can be crocheted with Eri silk. It is unique and quite stunning.

Stoles from Eri Silk are so lovely, and last for years! Muezart sells these stoles in lovely colours and patterns!

My most favourite product from Eri silk are these lovely silk handmade papers. Oh, the texture!

If you are not ready to crochet your own products, readymade crochet scarves, stoles and shawls are also available with Muezart.
