Interiors: Bed & Chai Guest House, Delhi

Interiors: Bed & Chai Guest House, Delhi

Coraline is French and has lived in Delhi for 6 years. She runs Bed & Chai in South Delhi, which she opened 3 years ago with her friend Clara. It all started when during their first years in Delhi, they were not able to find affordable and clean hotels in South Delhi for their visitors. The cheapest hotels were all in Paharganj and tourists ended up not liking Delhi because they thought all Delhi was like this area.

Minimalist, Bed and Chai Guest House

The guest house is decorated in a fuss-free, minimalist style, with lovely pieces of furniture and accessories that are functional yet decorative.

You will see painted chairs, patchwork upholstery, decorative mirrors, kettles that have been converted into lamps, and in the terrace, simple charpoys with colorful bedding.

When styling, they decided to mix styles keeping the fact that they would be hosting guests with a variety of interests, in mind. So they had a dorm for small budgets and rooms for guests who wanted and could afford more privacy.

Most of the furniture is sourced from Bonafide Exports (address shared below) in Jodhpur. He likes to transform Indian tools to beautiful furniture. Chapati rolls in mirror (featured above), block printing on a table, etc. The lights are handmade. They also work with a carpenter (phone number is shared below) in Munirka who does basic but beautiful and well done work.

The duo also run a coffee shop – chillandchai. Did you enjoy this post? I loved this pretty guesthouse. Thank you Coraline for sharing pics of your guesthouse, and giving us some lovely furniture-buying tips in Delhi.
