With 4400 exhibitors from 88 countries, a tradefair cannot get more global than this. Ambiente is a traditional sourcing ground for buying houses worldwide; it is the preferred ground for décor trend spotting, colour trends and getting the first look at some of the most revolutionary products in the Living, Giving and Dining categories that Ambiente showcases. It is the best place to preview trends and witness them first hand!

The annual Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt is rather special this year! India is the official country partner. That means Indian products, designers and art will be in the limelight. Scroll down for more information on the India angle to Ambiente 2019!

Small living spaces and kitchen trends are in focus this year. Ambiente has also forecast some trends based on exhibitors’ product lines. I will be talking about these trends on my social media channels, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (The Keybunch and Decor Drama). So stay tuned.

Action-packed itinerary

The Ambiente Fair caters to decor enthusiasts and home decor buyers. What’s special here is the most diverse offer of products meets a global audience. It cant get more exciting than this. There will be buyers, analysts, trend spotters, shoppers, industry specialists, and representatives from other groups. It is packed with events to facilitate the best for these groups, including an online portal for buyers. Ambiente is also an important hub for special-interest themes such as Contract Business, HoReCa (theHotel, Restaurant and Cafe segment) and Ethical Style, as well as being the largest sourcing platform outside Asia for high-volume business.

I must mention here that Ethical Style is not just a label at Ambiente 19. An expert 8 member jury convened in Frankfurt and chose the brands that would exhibit under this label, and this section is sure to offer high quality and genuinely sustainable products.

The India Angle

With India co-hosting this year, Ambiente is gearing up to see a huge India presence! And this means all eyes will be on India and its Living, Giving and Dining market as it gears up to showcase a modern and futuristic version of its traditional art & craft heritage.

Jaipur-based Designer Ayush Kasliwal (akfdstudio.com) and Bengaluru-based Sandeep Sangaru (sangaru.com) have been nominated to design the India pavilion and the café respectively.

Additional themes and design concepts will be curated by Mr. Sunil Sethi, President of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI)

India’s upcoming Design talent: Winners of Interior Lifestyle Awards (ILA 2018) will showcase unique design concepts at the fair.

Ministry of Textiles will be launching a Global Campaign with an aim to draw attention to Indian artisans and promote handicraft exports. Spaces have been awarded to the government to present the scope and various perspectives. In this context, we also have a new Handmake in India logo.

For the first time at Ambiente more than 500 Indian exhibitors will participate! It is the definitive home ware and lifestyle tradeshow and if you are a decor enthusiast or maker, you should be there!
