LOVED this post. Like you said brings back memories from my childhood of "markazhi" month (December) when the streets would be adorned with such colorful kolams. The bigger, the better. The conch one remains my favorite till date as does the 9*1 leaves kolam.

I still collect kolam books for new designs.
